On Imee Marcos & Martial Law

IMEE MARCOS Speaks on MARTIAL LAW:

""My dad wasn't right about everything, but I do recall that he said: 'ang bigas, ang palay, hindi pinupulitika. You just have to do what you have to do because it's just too important.

""I think not everything my father did was good, but not everything was bad either. It's important that we learn from the good part because, I think, many issues that consumed him are still the issues of the day," Imee points out."

Imee Marcos is always an interesting subject for an interview on anything and everything under the sun. The former First Daughter is also a lensman's delight. She knows exactly what she wants to say or how she wants to be photographed. No coaching needed.

  4. JM : interesting. Martial law babies really lived in interesting times. It was so influential we still can even feel it today.

  5. JM: well maybe the best feeling you can get then was"the government will take care of everything, you do not need to worry about anything if you did not do something wrong" the worst feeling you can get then upon [pagkamulat] was "if I do something I think is dissenting, right and nationalistic in the truest form, the government will hunt me and finds no excuse for my activity". Well the former is just a dream now, while latter still exist. If they do not want it to exist- they should stop teaching history.

  6. Jesusa Bernardo medyo exaggerated but totoo rin points mo. kaso sa human rights siya bumagsak. now, worse pa yata kay arrobo pero bad pa rin.

  7. JM: hehehe. Yes, it may be an exaggeration, but it describes the feeling. isipin mo naman, dati pag may diumano Food shortage o Energy Crisis ang gagawin ng gubyernong Marcos, sisiguraduhin nilang alam ng tao na meron na silang solusyon dito, a...nd the people WILL believe. I remember an Imelda interview about a pending Food shortage- sabi niya to this effect: " I checked on the Food Terminal and there are a lot of food stocked and still to be delivered". Isang bunga nito yung Green revolution, para daw di magutom ang mga tao. For the second point, syempre, darating din naman ang araw na the people MAY believe, and when the people DID NOT believe anymore, Marcos have to "cut it clean." (Kano pa rin)

  10. Jesusa Bernardo: alam natin yun, adriano. alam na alam. totoong santo pa si marcos kumpara sa mga amerikanong iyon lalo na nung fil.am war at kahit ngayon patago lang.

that said, may hr violations pa rin si marcos. but he has many good din.
