The Pacific Gateway to Imperialist Bald Eagle Glory

I was rather impressed how the United States could own so many island territories. At the same time, I was a bit surprised why America would bother with so small, albeit, tiny, island possessions.

From this map showing the perspective of imperialist America looking at the full spread of the Pacific Ocean, it is clear what the game plan was. The adversary of the Filipinos during the Philippine-American War planned to control the expanse of the Pacific, including the gateway to the Oriental markets, our islands, for military and commercial gain. The U.S. government, so great in its greed, planned its empire with the Pacific as key.

As early as the turn of the 20th century, the imperialist U.S. of A. planned to be the world's power. And the Philippines was seen as an important strategic possession. And racism, white civilization supremacy ek ek were used to justify the immoral acts of invading other people's lands, including ours.

U.S. Sen. Albert J. Beveridge's words sum up the imperialist vision that also explain the real motivation behind the aggression against our nation during the Philippine-American War (1899-1914):

Lines of navigation from our ports to the Orient and Australia, from the Isthmian Canal to Asia, from all Oriental ports to Australia converge at and separate from the Philippines. They are a self-supporting, dividend-paying fleet, permanently anchored at a spot selected by the strategy of Providence, commanding the Pacific. And the Pacific is the ocean of the commerce of the future. Most future wars will be conflicts for commerce. The power that rules the Pacific, therefore, is the power that rules the world. And, with the Philippines, that power is and will forever be the American Republic.
ALBERT J. BEVERIDGE : In Support of an American Empire See More

Ngayon, mga isang siglo ang lumipas, mukhang malapit-lapit nang maghingalo si Kalbong Agila, ready to mutate into a lesser or smaller, less dangerous species. When that happens, the Pacific people, the Filipinos/Taga-Ilogs included, would have been liberated.

Yellow Cardinal Monument to "People Power" SIN

Hmmm. It's just a sort of pun, people: I refer to the late Jaime Cardinal SIN.

"A monument of Jaime L. Cardinal Sin, the 36th Archbishop of Manila and leading personality in the peaceful People Power Revolution of 1986 known as EDSA 1 will be unveiled on Friday, February 25, 2011, at the corner of P. Burgos Street and A. Bonifacio drive in Luneta at 9 a.m."

http://www.rcam.org/news/2011/cardinal_sin_monument_at_lthe_luneta_to_be_unveiled.html

Imagine that, the cardinal ninong of sorts of former "President" Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Tita Cory would have his own monument!

Imagine a conspiratorial "Oplan Excelsis" coup player of the cardinally sinful kind who helped trample upon the sanctity of the Filipino ballot and installed the "Most Corrupt President in Philippine History," a decade-long small-but-terrible destroyer of the nation's moral fabric, being honored with a monument?

Imagine an elitely sinful cardinal who deprived the poor of the holy Latin privilege of "vox populi, vox dei," insulting them as the "Great unwashed" and attempting to deny Holy Mass services during EDSA 3, having a monument in Manila where majority of the 'smelly' urban poor reside?

And also for EDSA 3, with the plaque that says: "People Power NOT for the great unwashed."

LOL. Make my EDSA day.

Bad Words: "F_ _ k Jesus," "F_ _ k Muhammad"

It seemed that the said UP student, an indigenous Muslim tribe member, was saying the anti-Jesus words, along with some explanation, in a casual, near-joking fashion.

I was born and raised a Catholic Christian but I've become eclectic in my spiritual tendencies. Still, I can't help but find the "F- - k Jesus" religious spite or whatever as ridiculously unfounded.

There exists, concededly, the hypothesis that Jesus Christ was united with Mary Magdalene in a SACRED marriage, with the latter in no way the 'prostitute' that she has been made out to be for a long time but, rather, the "apostles of all apostles." According to the apocryphal Christian texts, Mary Magdalene was the leader and visionary of a group of women disciples of Jesus. However, the Apochrypha is NOT considered valid by mainstream Christianity for which reason such text were not included in the New Testament. Therefore, any spite or criticism of Christianity by non-believers should work on the premise that JESUS was CELIBATE.

I googled "f_ _ k Jesus" and the cyber search yielded some 55,000 results actually. Jesus Christ cannot possibly f_ _ k because the Christian prophet/God was a CELIBATE, at least while here on earth.

Isn't it that Mohammad had a harem of many wives--said to be thirteen in all? The Muslim prophet even married (and f_ _ ked?) a very-much minor girl 9 (nine) years of age.

Every individual human, woman or man, has been given by God with the intelligence to think, discern, and decide. That means we should be free to criticize and express our assessments and thoughts of other religions. However, let sound reason guide us. The Christian prophet/God cannot have possibly engaged in f_ _ king so one shouldn't even ask others to f_ _k Jesus.

Muhammad did f_ _ k women, including at least a girl, whom he married as part of his harem. It's still bad to say "f _ _ Muhammad," though, because we should try to respect all religions. By the way, a google search of "f_ _ k Muhammad" yielded over 4,000 hits while for the variant spelling, "f_ _k Mohammad," there were nearly 3,700 hits.

1918 Census of the Philippine Islands [American-colonial era]

Census of the Philippine Islands taken under the direction of the [American-colonial era] Philippine Legislature in the year 1918, Volume 1

Read here FREE:
http://blog-by-taga-ilog-news.blogspot.com/2011/02/census-of-philippine-islands-taken.html

This free full view online book offers a wealth of data about the Philippines as of 1918. Covers geography, histology, and climatology. May konting estadistika rin sa populasyon. Covers some 46 provinces and 2 cities (Manila and Baguio).

The American colonial era census book (first part) lists Luzon, Mindanao, Samar, Negros, Palawan, Panay, Mindoro, Leyte, Cebu, Bohol, Masbate, Sulu grouop, and Romblon group as the principal islands, with the "unnamed islangs [being] small unimportant mangrove or rocky islets." It also lists the many ports of our archipelago. There are 61 maps covering the political, relief, and forest divisions of the Philippine/Taga-Ilog Islands, provinces, province in halves, subprovinces, and cities.

"No land in America surpasses in fertility the plains and valleys of Luzon. Rice and coffee, sugar and coconuts, hemp and tobacco, and many products of the temperate as well as the tropic zone grow in various sections of the archipelago....The wood of the Philippines can supply the furniture of the world for a century to come. At Cebu the best informed man in the island told me that 40 miles of Cebu's mountain chain are practically mountains of coal..." - Sen. Alfred J. Beveridge

Anyway, just try to read between the lines when the book describes our people from the slant of the racist imperialists (yes, co-authored by Filipinos na Federalista! lol).

But enjoy looking at the history of your or your parents' provinces. Cheers!

Time to Disband the Philippine Military Academy

IT is time to either disband the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) or to overhaul its curriculum and system.

It is condemnable how active and retired military officers from the PMA, including members of class 1979, have decided to embark on a most obscene campaign--to "punish" Sen. Antonio Trillanes by 'shunning' him, etc., for supposedly "humiliating" senior officer and self-confessed EDSA 2 mutineer and "pabaon" corrupt suicider, Gen. Angelo T. Reyes.

Calderon claims that Trillanes violated the PMA code on treating senior officers.

Calderon: “Our core values in the PMA are integrity and loyalty. We also teach them (cadets) honor and respect. My comment is that definitely, this is very uncavalier-like. As an alumnus, I am grieved that a junior officer would say that to a senior officer and a very honorable man (Reyes)”.

http://www.tribuneonline.org/commentary/20110216com2.html

Trillanes.

As according to Ninez Cacho Olivares' editorial: the PMAer generals "appear to be prostituting the meaning of honor, respect, integrity and loyalty, along with what is honorable, dishonorable, loyalty and integrity."

"So it is okay to be corrupt in the military and not blow the whistle merely because it is “uncavalier” to snitch on a corrupt elder? Something is wrong somewhere with the values of honor, respect, integrity and loyalty being inculcated in the PMA being twisted to serve the ends of those who may be linked to corruption in the AFP, along with others who are using these twisted values for probes not to dig deeper."

http://www.tribuneonline.org/commentary/20110216com2.html

The PMA traces its existence to the American colonial era, when COMMONWEALTH ACT No. 1* (An Act To Provide For The National Defense Of The Philippines, Penalizing Certain Violations Thereof, Appropriating Funds Therefor, And For Other Purposes)  was passed on December 21, 1936:

"Section 30. There shall be established a military training school to be named the Philippine Military Academy, for the training of selected candidates for permanent commission in the Regular Force. The student body in the Military Academy shall be known as the Cadet Corps of the Army of the Philippines."

http://www.chanrobles.com/commonwealthacts/commonwealthactno1.html

Its technically-oriented curriculum was patterned after that of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Socio-humanistic courses were added to the PMA curriculum in the 1960s.

http://www.pma.ph/?pageid=AbouttheAcademy

Unfortunately, the socio-humanistic courses added do not seem to have helped humanize nor moralize at least some of the elder graduates of PMA. Antonio Luna noon 1898.

ANGELO T. REYES - GENERAL of FORTUNE

Whether or not the yellow government and the yellow media succeed in making a "hero" out of a former mutineer general who reaped the graces of the illegitimate EDSA 2 "Most Corrupt President in Philippine History" and later did suicide to avoid the hounds of corruption investigations, retired Gen. Angelo Tomas Reyes' own words betray the despicable kind of government "service" he gave the Filipino/Taga-Ilog people.

http://taga-ilog-news.blogspot.com/2011/02/muting-truth-he-says-aldrin-cardon.html

What's more, it was an oxymoron his words that he gave PCIJ's Malou Mangahas in his last media interview. An oxymoron that tries to make morons of the people of Taga-Ilog/Philippines.

"I joined EDSA II at great risk. Jumped into a void. Coming from a place that was high and comfortable. WITHOUT any REGARD for COMPENSATION or recognition or reward. I thought what I did – being loyal to the Flag and putting the national interest above all else – a right, but I was faulted for not being loyal to the commander-in-chief, that I should have stuck with him to the end, however that end might be. I stuck it out with the GMA [Gloria Macapagal Arroyo] administration for 9 years, not under the banner of loyalty; I could have deserted GMA, but I did NOT want to be branded as SOMEONE WHO ABANDONED HIS SUPERIORS…” (bold supplied)

http://pcij.org/stories/a-warrior-comes-clean-in-last-battle-for-honor/

For the record, Angelo T. Reyes was appointed
  • - Secretary of Defense (2003)
  • - Secretary of Interior and Local Government (2004 to 2006)
  • - Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources (2006 to 2007)
  • - Secretary of Energy (2007 to 2010)
Not to mention being Anti-Kidnapping Presidential Adviser and Presidential Adviser on Anti-Smuggling.

As his post-EDSA 2001 and suicide history showed, Gen. Reyes apparently acceded to help Arroyo oust Estrada with promises of multiple department portfolios and access to AFP funds. In other words, Angelo T. Reyes was Arroyo's GENERAL of FORTUNE.

Phallic Swearing (No Bible)

"Men held their own genitals in such high esteem that it was common courtroom practice for them to swear to tell the truth with their hands on their genitals--as we swear to tell the truth in the name of God or by placing our hands on the Bible."

-- Rathus, Spencer A. and Jeffrey S. Nevid. Human Sexuality in a World of Diversity. 6th Ed. Allyn and Bacon, 2005.

Human civilization to date has been so patriarchal that there even came the period of phallic worship. Structures of phallic symbols were made in many parts of the globe such as England, Scotland, Ireland, Scandinavia, Greece, and even Turkey in the West and in the East, in Japan, China, India, and almost all Oriental lands, even in Polynesia and also in the Americas.

http://books.google.com/books?id=hYOnfzp9VgEC&pg=PA86&dq=%22phallic+worship%22+monuments&hl=en&ei=QKRYTcCNCsK3rAeXp8C9Bw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=10&sqi=2&ved=0CFYQ6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q=%22phallic%20worship%22%20monuments&f=false

Located at Fort Bonifacio, the LNMB is a shrine established to pay tribute to the GALLANT Filipinos who brought HONOR to the country and who died for the sake of FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY. - http://server.pvao.mil.ph/libingan.html

Bakit? It sends the message that SUICIDE is a way for a general to instantaneously absolve himself from the crimes of plunder and mutiny, thus ensuring his place in the LNMB no matter his crimes to the people.

Note that: "The remains of military personnel who were dishonorably separated, reverted, or discharged from the service are NOT authorized to be interred in the LNMB, including those who were convicted for an offense involving moral turpitude." (bold supplied)

As of October 2003, there were nearly 44 thousang remains interred at the LNMB. Those authorized to be interred at the LNMB include those of: National Scientists and National Artists; Medal of Valor Awardees (Burial Section 1A); VIP and Dignitaries; Philippine presidents, secretaries of national defense and chiefs of staff, along with cremated remains of their widows; Katipuneros, generals of the Filipino-American Revolution, PNP generals, and a number of retired generals of the AFP; active and retired personnel of the AFP and other veterans. As earlier said, military officers with DISHONORABLE records are NOT entitled to interment at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

http://server.pvao.mil.ph/libingan.html

According to the United Nations representative on extrajudicial killings, Philip Alston, the military was involved in Empeno's case. He added that the military is but in "a state of denial."

A UP senior student--Karen Empeno-- abducted and reportedly tortured, with the UN investigator pointing fingers at the military, and yet, not much noise was made??? How apathetic can society be?

Hindi lang ang militar ang nasa 'state of denial' kundi pati ang Lipunang Pilipino. Worse, the Philippine society, at least the vile yellow population, has been in a state of APATHY re torture and extrajudicial killings.

Time to disband the military instituted by the murderer-imperialist United States?

"It was a chilling moment for South East Asia correspondent Karen Percy. She was interviewing Karen Empeno’s parents for a story on the country’s growing number of extra-judicial killings and unexplained disappearances.

“She knows too much,” said Karen’s father, “about graft and corruption … she knows the revolution and she was inspired by it.”

"When she was abducted by heavily armed masked men in the middle of the night last June, Karen Empeno, was researching poverty among farmers for her sociology thesis at the University of The Philippines. "

"You see them hit her [Sherlyn Cadapan] with wooden planks, see her electrocuted, beaten, half-drowned. You see them amuse themselves with her body, poke sticks into her vagina, shove a water hose into her nose and mouth. And you see the soldiers wives’ watch. You hear the soldiers forcing Sherlyn to admit who it was with plans to “write a letter.” You hear her admit, after intense torture, that it was Karen’s idea. And you see Karen [Empeno], dragged out of her cell, tied at the wrists and ankles, stripped of her clothing, then beaten, water-tortured, and burned with cigarettes and raped with pieces of wood. And it is you who are ordered to wash their clothes the next day, and who finds blood in their panties."

Hen. Angelo Reyes--Sayang, nguni't Guilty (?)

Re the pabaon system issue:

Angelo Reyes. Could have stood up for the Constitution and the Republic during EDSA 2.

Magpapakamatay lang din pala ay hindi pa in the service of the constitution and the vote of the people. Instead, he committed suicide in the service pa of his BULSA.

REYES: “Gentlemen, I’m sure you know that we’ve just committed MUTINY* **.” His staff said, “Yes, sir.” (bold supplied)

KUNG totoong nagpakamatay si Reyes, the corruption expose in the military AND his role in Edsa 2 coup should still be investigated because, among other things, the two are closely related. Reyes could not have been the Department of Defense Secretary Secretary kung had he not participated in the coup against the then-sitting President, Joseph Estrada.

Not unless he was so vain (even in death) that he didn't want a blown.up face/head?

R.I.P., ex-Sec. Angelo Reyes.

REYES MADE THE DECISION to withdraw at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, after a meeting with his staff. He informed the vice-president of the decision... at 11:45 a.m. Reyes called the board of generals - composed of the three major services commanders, the vice-chief of staff and the deputy chief-of-staff - to the safe house to inform them of his decision...

Reyes: …So we’ll withdraw support, we’ll assemble at the conference room. I’ll call the board of generals… They’ll see me in my office. We will withdraw support and we will announce it... When you do this thing, you do it swiftly, quickly, (so there is) no chance for failure*..

..In their meeting, Reyes told her, “Ma’am, we are going to announce our withdrawal of support from the president and give it to you.”* (p. 171)

... and she said OK. (p. 297)

...To meet her, we go to the Corinthian at 2 o’clock then go to EDSA at 3 p.m... I said I had to dress up, go to the office so things look normal*... when we were still meeting at 10 o’clock I got a call that Secretary Mercado wanted to meet me in his office at 11:30. I said I can’t meet him at that time. It came to my mind that it was possible that he already knew that we were doing something*…

... After securing the support of everyone inside the staff room, Reyes said (“In jest,” according to him): “Gentlemen, I’m sure you know that we’ve just committed mutiny* **.” His staff said, “Yes, sir.” (page 171)

Barbarismo ng Rasismo ng Pananakop ng Kalbong Agila

Ang Barbarismo ng Rasismo ng Pananakop ng Kalbong Agila

Tawagin ba naman tayong "barbaro" at "savages" nina William McKinley at Theodore Roosevelt noong panahon ng Digmaang Pilipino-Amerikano?

Rasismo. Kasinungalingan.

Imperialist American President Theodore Roosevelt, in his May 4, 1902 speech at Arlington Cemetery, cast the Philippine-American War (1899-1902) as a race war: [Upon this] “small but peculiarly trying and difficult war” turned “not only the honor of the flag [but] “the triumph of civilization over forces which stand for the black chaos of savagery and barbarism."

"Roosevelt acknowledged and expressed regret for U.S. abuses but claimed that for every American atrocity,' "a very cruel and very treacherous enemy". had committed '"a hundred acts of far greater atrocity."'

The Imperialistic Blasphemy of William McKinley

From the White House website, retrieved February 2011:

"When McKinley was undecided what to do about Spanish possessions other than Cuba, he toured the country and detected an imperialist sentiment. Thus the United States annexed the Philippines, Guam, and Puerto Rico."

http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/presidents/williammckinley

Turn-of-the-20th-century, McKinley interview:

Before a group of Methodist ministers, McKinley claims that he didn't know what to do with the Philippines after Dewey's victory at the Battle of Manila Bay. Supposedly, he sought advise from Democrats and Republicans but "GOT LITTLE HELP."

"The truth...is that I didn't want the Philippines and when they came to us AS A GIFT FROM THE GODS, I did not know what to do with them.... When I next realized that the Philippines had dropped into our laps I confess I did not know what to do with them. I sought counsel from all sides--Democrats as well as Republicans--but GOT LITTLE HELP...I walked the floor of the White House night after night until midnight... and I am not ashamed to tell you gentlemen, that I went down on my knees and PRAYED ALMIGHT GOD FOR LIGHT AND GUIDANCE.... and one night late IT CAME TO ME THIS WAY--I don't know how it was, but it came:

1) that we could not give them back to Spain--that would be cowardly and dishonorable; 2) that we could not turn them over to France or Germany... that would be bad business and discreditable; 3) that we could not leave them to themselves--they were unfit for self-government-- and 4) that there was nothing left for us to do but to take them all, and to educate the Filipinos, and uplift and civilize and Christianize them, and by God’s grace do the very best we could by them, as our fellow men for whom Christ died. And then I went to bed, and went to sleep, and slept soundly...." (bold supplied)

""In the first place, it's itneresting your description of the Phlippines as "a gift of gods" to the United States. I am totally in agreement. They were a gift of the gods. Which gods? Do you know the name of those gods? Maybe they were Senator Cabot Lodge, Teddy, Roosevelt, Wilim Randolph Hearts, Alfred Mahan, Albert J. Beveridge or some other members of the expansionist mafia. Yes, I believe so."

The Fi-Am War as RACIST War of Invasion

Sa mga hindi pa nakakaalam, the American invasion/annexation of the Philippines was a RACIST war.

Pre-Spanish Philippine/Taga-Ilog society gave women the right to engage in commerce, equal rights as men, equal inheritance, and also the right to rule. Compare that to the U.S. which gave their women the right to vote only in the early 1900s and which deprived widows of inheritance as late as the 1800s.

http://www.onlinewomeninpolitics.org/phil/herstory_wfs.pdf

"They referred to the Filipino as "niggers," "barbarians," and "savages," reflecting both the racist and imperialist attitudes of American society at large."
http://books.google.com/books?id=TXE73VWcsEEC&pg=PA9&dq=philippine-american+war+%22first+vietnam%22&hl=en&ei=FoBMTfaUNMjorAfgnYzZBg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCYQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=They%20referred%20to%20the%20Filipino%20as%20%22niggers%2C&f=false

"But as early as April 1899, General Shafter gave grisly portent to the future conduct of the war: 'It may be necessary to kill half of the Filipinos in order that the remaining half of the population may be advanced to a higher plane of life than their present semi-barbarous state affords.'"

"They [Filipinos] are a barbarous race...The Filipino is the South Sea Malay, put through a process of three hundred years of superstition in religion...It is barely possible that 1,000 men in all the archipelago are capable of self-government in the Anglo-Saxon sense...and there are over 5,000,000 people to be governed" - Sen. Alfred J. Beveridge
http://books.google.com/books?id=TXE73VWcsEEC&pg=PA9&dq=philippine-american+war+%22first+vietnam%22&hl=en&ei=FoBMTfaUNMjorAfgnYzZBg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCYQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=are%20a%20barbarous%20race&f=false

""Civilize Them with a Krag" was the song of the soldiers who came to impose American rule. The Philippine-American War caused an inordinate amount of diilocation, devastation, and suffering. Torture, massacres, and pillaging occurred. With its similarities to the Vietnam War, [it] is sometimes refereed to as the "first Vietnam."

Alfred J. Beveridge
http://books.google.com/books?id=TXE73VWcsEEC&pg=PA9&dq=philippine-american+war+%22first+vietnam%22&hl=en&ei=FoBMTfaUNMjorAfgnYzZBg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCYQ6AEwAA#v=snippet&q=in%20fertility%20the%20plains%20and%20valleys%20of%20Luzon.&f=false

Beveridge na "the Philippines is ours forever."
