RE: The Truth behind the Philippine Presidency and the 2004 Elections

"2004 Poll Fraud and 'Hello Garci'

"The opposition's charges of poll cheating would be later be backed up by the so-called "Hello Garci" tapes that reveal the wiretapped conversations between Arroyo and an elections commissioner assigned to the contested region of Mindanao. Despite convincing proofs, however, the big b...usinesses, the Catholic Church and the Philippine media helped sustain the cover-up of the fraudulent win of Arroyo in the 2004 polls."

Kailangan ba ng sub-state/humiwalay ng mga Muslim?

We admire our Muslim brothers/sisters for they were never completely subdued by the imperialist Americans. But why do they push for separation/substate?

On account of their religion? Are they not Filipinos also? We have one race. Before Islam came to the islands, there were us. Dapat pagkatapos ng Islam, Espana, Bald Eagle, (& Hapon), nandyan pa rin at nagkakaisa ang TAYO. Lahat tayo Pinoy!

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - The chairman of the newly- reconstituted peace panel of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front ( MILF) said Wednesday they will be pushing for the establishment of a sub-state in the southern region of Mindanao as part of the final peace agreement or comprehensive compact. Nagpapagamit ang MILF sa imperyalistang kano na kumitil sa libo.libong nilang kapatid sa relihiyon. if those Americans put up their bases there and a nuclear war ensues, madadamay din ang Visayas sa fallout, if not Luzon. Or if not, at least the rest of Mindanao.

Spain was able to completely pacify certain parts of Mindanao, such as Buloung, Cotabato. Two areas in Mindanao was part of the Katipunan revolution.  Aguinaldo included Mindanao in his republic. The Republic of Mindanao of Vicente Alvarez was not exclusively Muslim. Sakay's Katagalugan proclamation included Mindanao.

What happens to the Christians and "pagans" there? if there will be a substate, which i hope won't materialize, it should be all-Muslim. This is because Islam, in general, finds it perfectly ok to proselytize by force.

Complete text of the 1972 declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Proclamation No. 1081 is an executive issuance placing the entire Philippines under martial law. Issued by President Ferdinand E. Marcos on the strength of a constitutional provision (Article VII, Section 10, Paragraph 2 of the 1935 Constitution, as amended), the president's exercise of the commander-in-chief powers in relation to martial law makes him the most powerful person in the land. The President informs the people that there are, in existence, lawless elements intending to overthrow the government and supplant it with one based on Marxist-Leninist-Maoist teachings and beliefs and that, these lawless elements have organized and established an insurrectionary force known as the New People’s Army (NPA) to pursue a relentless and ruthless armed struggle against the duly constituted government of the Philippines. Earlier, the President suspended the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus and has commanded the armed forces to suppress the lawless violence; however, he finds these two courses of action insufficient in order to end the chaotic situation of the country; thus, he opted to declare martial law. President Marcos cites Supreme Court cases to attest to the existence of rebellion and insurrection in the country....MORE

Re: JC de los Reyes on Repro Health Bill

to a forum in Marikina this morning to speak against Repro Health Bill, Congressman Lagman to defend it...when will this 50 year old debate end? What if we say, sige let's just limit population to 10 million Filipinos, who will those lucky ones be?...ironically I presume...those...who are rich and can afford to raise babies considered not a burden to society. (22 Sept. 2010)

if our society can teach the boys early on that it's NOT OK to play with girls and that it takes two to tango and that the pregnant result of sex/lovemaking is also their responsibility, then our society can be truly better.

Jesusa Bernardo what a generalization. babae na lumalapit sa lalaki. it takes two to tango. kung ako ba may.asawa at lumapit ang lalaki sa akin ay ok din kung papatulan ko?

Jesusa Bernardo in our society, that women can also approach men, kung totoo nga, is actually a good development. bakit ba dapat lalaki lang manligaw? pag walang lumapit, singlehood na lang. not that i can do it bec. i'm a product of the old tradition but ...for the young people, ok siguro yon.

anyway, the point is it takes two to tango at kapag marunong mambuntis ang lalaki, dapat responsable siya sa anak niya, tulad ni babae.

Jesusa Bernardo machismo society natin kasi. male parental responsibility, along with the female (na currently emphasized) ang dapat ituro sa 'sex education,' hindi lang yung biology part of it. pagkaganun, baka mag.agree si JC and bishops sa sex education in schools.

The Meat Eaters
The StoneThe Stone is a forum for contemporary philosophers on issues both timely and timeless.
Viewed from a distance, the natural world often presents a vista of sublime, majestic placidity. Yet beneath the foliage and hidden from the distant eye, a vast, unceasing slaughter rages. Wherever there is animal life, predators are stalking, chasing, capturing, killing, and devouring their prey. Agonized suffering and violent death are ubiquitous and continuous. This hidden carnage provided one ground for the philosophical pessimism of Schopenhauer, who contended that “one simple test of the claim that the pleasure in the world outweighs the pain…is to compare the feelings of an animal that is devouring another with those of the animal being devoured.”.... Who did Dacer & Corbito: Sen. Lacson, ex-President Estrada, or ex-President Ramos?

MANCAO'S TESTIMONY: HE CHEATED for ERAP?!?

The problem with Mancao's testimony, aside from its being based only on hearsay, is that it came with, or woven into, a claim that sounds incredible. In media interviews, he stated that he and Estrada had known each other personally and that he supposedly even conducted "Dagdag...-Bawas" electoral fraud operations under "Special Project Alpha" to ensure Estrada's victory in the 1998 presidential polls.

That ex-President Estrada needed to cheat in 1998 is a rather unbelievable tale because every independent pre-electoral and exit polls bore out Estrada's victory. Had Mancao skipped the "cheating" part, his latest testimony would have been worth giving some weight to.

Vivid Images Bring Hidden History to Light

Published in Socialism and Democracy Journal #37 (Vol. 19, No. 1),  Spring 2005

The Spanish-American War of 1898 lasted six months and cost 2,446 lives. It is featured prominently in all U.S. history textbooks.

The Philippine-American War of 1899-1914 lasted 15 years and killed at least 100,000 people. It is hardly mentioned even in college-level history texts and has been all but erased from the U.S. public memory - even within the (non-Filipino-American) left.
Yet the Philippine-American War occupies a central place in the rise of the U.S. to become the 20th century’s paramount imperial power. It was a pivotal episode in the intertwining of U.S.-style racism and empire-building, openly touted as the moment when the U.S. supplanted Britain in “taking on the white man’s burden.” And Washington’s  brutal assault on the Philippine independence movement was daily front page news at the turn of the century, with the New York World editorializing that “The American public eats its breakfast and reads in its newspapers of our doings in the Philippines.”

The campaign to bury the history of U.S. manipulation, racism, pillage and annexation in the Philippines began even while the war was still underway. The Chicago Chronicle printed a cartoon in 1900 showing then-President William McKinley locking shut a book titled “True History of the War in the Philippines.” The cartoon’s title was “The Forbidden Book.”...MORE

Could it be that the artist got stuck not only in the fantasies of his lost childhood but, as well, by the racist standards of art and beauty that doggedly persisted during the decade? ...Could it be that the famed pop icon was unable to grow out of the childhood impressions cast on him by a Caucasian-ruled society? Could it be that in a rather bizarre creative expression of conflicting ethnic and national identity of his never-ending childhood, the great artist of Negroid genes and skin relentlessly tried to physically transform himself to achieve an American's white ideal?"

Torture legalized by Bush & perpetrators granted immunity by Obama?

The administration argues that a former detainee's civil lawsuit could jeopardize national security. Critics say that position undermines government transparency and basic justice.

Justified his nation's imperialistic & genocidal invasion of the Philippines by making it appear before the Western world that the general Filipino population's yet in a state of TRIBALISM & SEMI-BARBARISM.

The Stupidity of the EDSA 2 "People Power" Gullibles Relived

Jesusa Bernardo via TAGA-ILOG News: ‎"An interview conducted by renowned author Nick Joaquin and which first appeared in the Philippine Graphic revealed that a power grab from Estrada had been planned long before the impeachment and that two of the key putschists were no other than Gloria Arroyo and her husband Mike Arroyo. With or without a popular compo...nent, the overthrow of the President with the highest plurality vote in history would have pushed through."

This laughable political advert is part of the "Arroyo administration's seventh anniversary celebration of the now infamous EDSA 2 putsch-cum-People Power that overthrew the popular Estrada, and which sent the Filipinos into seven years of polarization and political instability. It illustrates how A...

‎"Arroyo and Singson's camp also had a Plan B that included having elements of the military strike the initial blow by withdrawing from the government, to be followed by other groups such as the Philippine Military Academy graduates from Class '71, Class '72, etc. Moreover, they had a bloody "back-up strike force" given the orders to shoot against every place in Metro Manila and the provinces where Estrada forces will resist. It is herein seen that the unseen hand that directed the propaganda and political machinations against Estrada had a heartless determination to grab power. For all the illusions of the EDSA 2 people, it has become apparent that they had simply served as pawn to overthrow a very popularly elected leader. Worse, the EDSA "People Power" principle of a peaceful revolutionary change in government was in no way a consideration for the elitist elements who never respected the millions of masa (lower-class) votes received by Estrada."See More

Turn-of-the-20th Century Timeline of Gen. Aguinaldo's Stupidity a.k.a. Imperialist American Deception

Jesusa Bernardo ‎"The Sublime Paralytic, Apolinario Mabini, explains why Aguinaldo fell for the US deception. In his memoirs, he writes that:"

Mr. Aguinaldo had accepted [the verbal promises] because he ardently desired to return to the islands, fearful that other influential Filipinos should (rob him of glory and) reach an understandin...g with the Americans in the name of the people.""

      Costly Stupidity

This most unwise decision of Aguinaldo trusting the North Americans will allow the enemy to stage the most infamous Mock Battle of Manila and thus steal Philippine Independence right at his very nose. The implications of the... Mock Battle of Manila that purported to project the false claim that Spanish forces in the Philippines were defeated by the North Americans instead of the native revolutionaries would be severe. It would spell doom for the country in terms of international recognition of its sovereignty. The staged Battle would allow the US to forge the Protocol of Peace and, eventually the 1898 Treaty of Paris that supposedly 'ceded' Spanish control of the Philippines to the Americans. In the world of international treaties, Aguinaldo's gullibly negotiable stance outmatched bigtime by the wily United States spelled disaster to Philippine Independence.
    • José Miguel García Right from the start, he was already dependent on the north americans. What if there was no Antonio Luna in our history who exerted so much drive and pressure in the resistance, would he still have lead that defense no matter how short and how so lousily he conducted?

    • Jesusa Bernardo indeed, gen. luna continued the uncompromising and fiercely nationalist/anti-colonial stance of supremo andres bonifacio.

unfortunately for our motherland, the creepy stupid-&-greedy-combined aguinaldo killed 'em both.
