Hindi kaya panahon na upang itigil ang SOBRANG PAGSAMBA kay Gat JOSE P. RIZAL?
Kung tutuusin, si Rizal ay maituturing na katulad ng mga Federalistang sina Cayetano Arellano, Pedro Paterno, Pardo de Tavera, at Benito Legarda. Ang "mother country" ni Rizal ay ang ESPANA, samantalang ang kina Arellano at Legarda ay ang ESTADOS UNIDOS.
Fellow propagandist Marcelo del Pilar helped preserved the image of Jose Rizal in his belief that Filipinos should be united in order to achieve their reformist ideal. This tendency to deify Rizal persists to this day.
Indeed, Taga-Ilog/Pilipinas should be united. But to deify Rizal at the expense of aspirations for genuine independence? At the expense of the "Father of Philippine Revolution," Andres C. Bonifacio???

I am of the opinion that we must avoid at any cost a judgment unfavorable to our Rizal; I want to preserve intact the great name he enjoys there. You will remember that when he was insisting on returning there, I recommended to you specially to be on the watch for anything which could diminish his stature....

Isa pa eh dapat nating itanong kung para saan ba namatay si Rizal? He offered his services to colonial Spain, apparently to run away from the fires of the Himagsikan. That did not work to appease the colonial authorities so what he did next was officially DISOWN the revolution, even calling it "absurd." Tapos, may pagkakataong tumakas siya subali't pinili niyang harapin ang mga bala ng Kastila. So what did he die for? Is that really martrydom considering that he disowned the uprising of the people? In fairness to Rizal, he already did his part with his writings that articulated the need for an Elias. Kahit na nagdalawang isip siya, nagbigay daan na para sa isang Bonifacio at mga katulad nitong masugid na Katipunero/Katipunera ang mga sulatin ni Rizal.
Hindi ko sinasabing huwag kilalanin si Rizal bilang isang bayani dahil talaga namang marami siyang naiambag sa ikagigising ng mga Pilipino/Taga-Ilog (kahit na hindi siya lubusang naintindihan ng taumbayan dahil sa wikang Kastila ang kanyang mga obra maestra) at mismong si Supremo Bonifacio nga ay mataas ang tingin sa kanya at napukaw niya ang makabayang isip at damdamin nito. Subali't kung makakapagsalita lamang ito ngayon, malamang si Rizal mismo ay ituturong kilalanin natin si Bonifacio at hindi siya bilang Pambansang Bayani. Rizal would probably tell us that whatever he achieved, the Supremo pushed it to the next level.
Kahit ang mga kapatid ni Rizal at mismong asawa nitong si Josephine Bracken ay kinilala ang pamumuno ni Bonifacio. Ayon sa isang sulatin ng National Historical Commission:
Josephine and Rizal reunited for the last time at the latter’s cell in Fort Santiago on December 30, 1896. The couple were married in Catholic rites by Fr. Victor Balaguer two hours before Rizal’s execution at Bagumbayan. After his execution Josephine, accompanied by Paciano and Trinidad Rizal entered rebel territory in Cavite. They were received by Andres Bonifacio who received from the Rizals a copy of the hero’s last poem which would be known as the Mi Ultimo Adios.
Kung ang mga Rizal ay kinilala at binigyan halaga si Bonifacio, sapat upang ibigay dito ang kopya ng tula nito--kahit na itinakwil officially ni Rizal ang Himagsikan ng 1896--hindi malayong may impluwensya si Pepe kahit na bahagya sa naging pasya ng kanyang asawa at mga kapatid. Maaring ibig sabihin, bukas pa rin ang isip ni Rizal sa konsepto ng himagsikan na itinanghal niya kahit papaano sa kanyang mga sulatin...na maaring ibig sabihin naman ay tiningala rin ni Rizal ang pangunahing Pilipino/Taga-Ilog na nagsilbing Elias sa kanyang nobela, ang bayaning si Andres Bonifacio.
